As with walls, the software numbers opening as they are inputted. If you delete or add opening your numbering can get out of sequence.

The wall renumbering allows to manipulate the wall number to suit drawing layout style. For example, using grids.

When searching for a particular opening on a large floorplan, it seems easier to locate opening when they are in some kind of sequential pattern, be it clockwise around the perimeter walls of whichever system you like. Being able to renumber them just gives flexibility.

Another way might be if we could simply output the opening number to the database when outputting lists.

I'm trying to insert windows into my model. the single sash function works well. When I try any of the three multiple sash option Dietrich's shuts down?

I tried any dwg, works fine. The version I got though had a limit on how many times one could use it. ??

I also downloaded their pdf to dxf converter which may be handy when possible client send their pdf plans.

I inquired about the patch to fix the dwg import issue and have installed it and all functions work fine now.

Thanks to the programmers who work to keep this product running great!

I'll go and work outside and wait a little bit for more feedback before I start plugging new dhpakt files into the mix.

Will this patch be compatible with the patch I was sent which fixed the AutoCAD autosave problem?

I really like the dwg importing feature. I think it is a great improvement in the compatibility of the Dietrich's software and I use it quite regularly. This morning I tried to import a dwg file as I've been doing for the last few months and today a little message comes up telling me I have to download an updated version of this devCAD software. Is this true? Is devCAD included in my Dietrich's update renewal contract? Or do I have to purchase a separate licence online? If I must purchase, which version am I supposed to choose to have the same level of compatibility I've had so far?

The devCAD site doesn't say how long a licence is valid for.

I'm having troubles running AutoCAD and Dietrich's simultaneously.
Jorge, the other designer in our shop is having the same troubles.

Is anyone out there running AutoCAD and Dietrich's simultaneously??

I'd like to see if it is a software incompatibility issue or if we are just asking to much from our computers.

I have a pentium M processor with 2 gigs of RAM.
