    Hello,

I have made a compound housing of 2 1/4". I would now like to shorten the male piece, but leave the housing the same depth.

I have done this by going into the single beam info of the male piece, exploding the process, and changing the value of the cut off.

    Is there a better way?

    Thanks,

    What is written below?

    hallo zusammen

hab einen plan erstellt nun hab ich disen als dxf export gespeichert
nun kann er mit cadwork geöffnet werden aber es sind keine linien vorhanden was mache ich falsch

I am trying to export a 3d dxf that can be read by Cadwork as a 3d solid. I have been told by a Cadwork user that they can open and view the 3d dxf, but cannot convert into a 3d solid.

Is that what is being asked here?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Daniel

I see that the beams are exported following their sorting number.
I had sorted my project by wall, and so have multiple pieces (from different walls) with the same sorting number.

This leaves me with pieces from different walls mixed together. I will make sure I don't use this method in the future.

    Hello,

I have designed a truss and saved it as a wall macro. I have inserted this wall macro into a new wall, and want to make some changes.

I have moved two braces. In the single beam info, they have parametric tenons and a curve assigned by a smart tag.

The braces have been moved into a smaller space. Their length has been adjusted properly. However, the mortises in the adjoining beams have stayed where they were, and did not move with the brace.

What do I need to do to get the mortises to move with the brace?

    Thanks,

    dan

    Great!

I should have thought just to edit the single beam info! I think that's the easiest solution.

I also tried 2-02 D-CAM, but that is similar to an intersecting volume, right? I don't like them. Your processes don't show up in single beam info.

    Thank you,

    Daniel

Yes, when I use the end grain as a ground surface it cuts off entirely, as shown.

I tried moving the beam so that it is 1/16" short of passing through the plate, and notched. It worked. As soon as the beam is made flush through to the opposing side (or entirely through, as I have been trying) it does not work.

I also tried Add. Depth in Z. and I am having the same problem (while using end grain as ground)

    Hello,

I am having a similar problem.

I am trying to cut a slot into an angle bracket.

I have created a constant section the size of the required slot and placed it into position. I have selected different ground surfaces and sides, but always end up with one side being fully cut out.

I have checked to make sure that there are no gaps in the notch settings.

    Picture attached.

    Thanks,

    Dan

    Hello,

I have created an optimized list with the DHP_H Document Template and I have a few questions.

    1) The preset columns on this template are grd., width, height, length, pieces and volume.

I would like to change these columns, just as you would with a the timber list settings. However, there doesn't appear to be a List Template for Optimized lists.

I have found the DHP_H Template in the DHP_DOT folder and renamed and saved. It now shows up in my Document Template choices.

I tried pasting a picture in the Template, but it's not coming through on the exported list. In order to customize my template do I need to go into the Macros (and Microsoft Visual Basic)? If so, I'm lost.

    2) On the orginal list that I exported with the DHP_H Document Template, in the volume column all the fields show up as "0" (zero). We would like to have a BF calculation on our optimized lists...

    Thanks for any help,

    Daniel

    Hello,

I have set up a roof surface property with Vertical Cuts on the eave and on Top End Pent Roof. I also want there to be vertical roof cuts at the valleys.

What do I have to change in the roof surface property?

I have attached a picture of the existing valley cuts.
(or maybe I haven't, I think there may be a problem with attachments)

    Thanks,

    Daniel

    Hello,

    I have stored a 4x8 Collar Beam in my Library (D-Cam 1-5-1).
I have placed it into a new position and have a couple questions.

    1) What is the best way to shorten the collar beam (while maintaining the processes on the ends)?. I used a separating cut and then moved the lap joints into the postion that I wanted them. Now, I want the beam to be only one piece again...

    2) Is there a way to make the joinery at the ends of this collar beam parametric to the rafter that it is being lapped into? The ornamental lap on the beam has a $ sign beside it in Single Beam Info, but is not creating a "female" side of the lap on the rafter when it is inserted.

    3) What do 3-1-6 and 3-1-9 do in D-Cam? Are they part of my solution?

I have attached a photo of the collar beam...

    Thanks,

    Daniel

    Hello,

When in DCAM and you want to save the current view (1-01-4), you are given the choice to check a box and export a timber list.

I am wondering if you can modify the columns that are exported. As it stands, there are columns for Sorting Number, Quantity, Beam Designation and Total Length. We would like to add in Width, Height, etc.
Is there a way to customize this Timber List?

In addition, can you customize the text box that comes in automatically with Single Beam drawings?

All of the drawings that I have exported have this:

    beam dimension: feet-inch
    beam length: feet-inch
    Single Beam Drawing Text: feet-inch

Why are these figures not showing up?

    Thanks,

    dan

We are making some accent braces for an upcoming job.

We are considering using a dovetail connection to join the vertical member to the horizontal member. We want the dovetail connection to be concealed on the "wall" end of the horizontal member.

I have used 3-9-4 to obtain the shape of the dovetail we want to use. However, you are only able to choose to connect to the side of the horizontal beam, and not to the end of it.

    I have attached a png.

    Hope this makes things clear.
