    Hi Kayaker,
I had a look at your project and mirrored some pieces and it worked correct. I will have a online meeting with you to see what is happening on your screen.

    Hi Kayaker,

Just change the Wall Type to Dormer Wall. A Dormer Wall is cut between two Roofs You do that in Ground Plan 3-01

In Roof Calculation go to 3-01 to select Roof Properties and select the Roof above to change at what Slice the Wall is cut. Do the same on the Roof below.

    Hi Peter,
You have to create or have a fixture (Peg) in the material data base.
With the tenon function You have to input the drilling and fixture. If you don't put an extra lenght in the fixture additional length field, the fixture is the lenght of the thickness of the beam that gets the mortise.

    Hi Kayaker,

No, You don't change the scale. You scale it in your program by 32 times up. In some programs you are able to choose the source units for import, if that is possible choose metric and meter, if not scale it one more time by 39.37008 ich you are working in inches.

    Hi Kayaker,
If the sale of the drawing is 1:32 you have to scale it 32x.

Now depending on the CAD- system or the units you are using in the CAD- system you have to scale it to the correct units. From Dietrich’s it is always metric and in meter.
If you need it in an inch scale that means you have to scale it up another 39.37008 x.
To a feet scale it would be 3.28084.
    Hope that helps.

    Hi Daniel,
Keep in mind that in D-CAD 2D we work in paper space and our text and dimension lines are real world size. When you get a drawing from Auto Cad sometimes it contains the whole model space with many drawings. The best thing to do is use the import factor of 0.0254 and when it suggest a scale to you choose 48 to 96 not bigger. In order to see all you have imported you have to switch to model space 7-8. From there you can copy and paste areas of the drawing to a new drawing. With 7-4 you can pan the whole model space until you have the correct area in the viewport to print.

    Hi Thorvald,

Pack the dhpstamm that is in the DBA- folder. Your coworker has to unpack the file and save it to the desktop. From within Project Data you are able to transfer the new material Item into her database. This way you will not overwrite your coworker’s database if that is a concern.

    To your other question.
You can only get weight of Items that are in the material database. From walls that you create in Ground Plan you will only get square meter or the volume of it. You have to put the material into the wall in order to get a list with weight information.
For the hollow core slab I would use weight per length. What weight information do you get from the manufacturer?

    Hi Daniel,

The translation is: Hello everyone. I have made drawings and have exported them to DXF. When they are opened in Cadwork there are no lines visible what what mI doing wrong.

They are talking about a 2D Drawing.

    Hi Scott,

After you have installed the cortona player you can right click on the wrl file and choose open with Internet explorer. The cortona player is a plugin that works with internet explorer. You have to do that only the first time. The next time it will open by double clicking the wrl file. If you use a different player that's is own program like the GL-Viewer you just have open the player and go to open and find the file.

    Regards

That is correct, I don’t recommend 2-02 in D-CAM for wood to wood connection. On a wood to steel or concrete connection it is ok.

    Hi Daniel,

You can not use the notch function to cut through a beam in one step. What you can do :

    Zitat

( I tried moving the beam so that it is 1/16" short of passing through the plate, and notched. It worked.).

After you have done that go into single beam info go to notch and extent the depth. That is one way.
If you have to cut through a beam or an object use the Mortise Smart-Tag- with Assign and position at a point.
You can also use D-CAM 2-02 intersection sets.

    Hi Joe,
If I have to go back to a specific view many times, I create a (for example) a 16 sited beam in one corner and use 7-5 parallel to userdefined plane to return to the same exact view.
