I can see this subject comes up a lot, but I have not found the specific answer.
I'm trying to send 3D data from my Catia V5 to the Frame Designer's Dietrich software.
It is as built data, represented in NURB Surface/Solid.
The Frame designer says he needs SAT or DXF. (I assume SAT is ACIS?)
I can't convert to this directly, only to other Surface/solid formats, but I can get their via CADFix software.
But, I've created SAT files from the Surface data and separately by tessellated Mesh generated off the Surfaces , but neither will Import to Dietrich.
I am specifying SAT in ASCII format, is that OK, or should it be Binary?
Can you give any other hints on entity type that Dietrich would prefer?
(I assume no chance of a STEP or IGES import to Dietrich?)
Thanks, Ian.
