Ihr Team Dietrich's Online - Holzbau ist unser Programm

Hi - I took a few days old copy of the position - that worked - and added the few chances that have been made. I here attach the 3D position model, that had a error. It seems strange to me, and it could be interesting to see if anyone can figure it out, what have happened.

    Hi.

I know that Dietrichs have a 3D model, that is cheating your eyes to see something that is not possible in real life. Do one of you have a link to it?

I just saw an article about the "eternal waterfall" (M.C. Eschers waterfall) - see movie here. This trick movie, is based on the same princips (it is a trick movie, but very well made!).

Ok - can you figure this one out:

I was about to make a extra wall (roof truss) in TF storey. Then I wanted to copy roof truss from one of the other walls, with wall macro and insert in new wall.

Then I saw that in almost all the other walls, the roof truss items was in the right place, but the wall volume, was far away under the building. When i check the heights of the walls, they are all the same - both the walls where roof truss design is inside the wall volume and the walls, where wall volume is far away.... The bottom edge UA should be 313237 mm - and it is for all walls. But when I in wall design, where wall volume is far away, measure, from bottom of wall, I can see that bottom of wall is -313237. How this can be, I don't knoe.

Ok - I found somewhere in Kaspersky where I could make exclusions. But it did actually not help. Even if I exclude anything that has something to do with Dietrichs. (She have both version 5 and 7 on the computer). But also when we start the main program, there are also a similar error message, because here are also icons.

In PlanCad, I tried to delete all toolbars. and then there were no error message, when opening PlanCad. Then I made the default toolbars and then the error came back.

Another in the office, also has Windows XP and also version 7 Dietrichs and the same antivirus software - but he does not have this problem....

I don't know what to do next (other than buy her a new computer) - or actually to recommend another antivirus software. I use Microsoft Security Eseentials and have no problems. But when her collegeue can use Kaspersky and not have the problem, then why she can't? ....

    Help.... :)

I am not sure what you mean with "Does she have icons in the program?". I mean of course she have? In all windows based programs there are icons. I also have icons - but not as many as she have. I have become more used to use combination of the menu's and the "number system". I prefer less icons, for a cleaner program and for a bigger screen space for the work.

"Does she have the file toolbar.dgz in directory ABB\GER?". Yes she have.

My Lithuanian technical drawer, experience something strange, when she open D-Cad.

She get the error message that the program cannot find below files, she press ok, and after 3 times PlanCad opens.

    Hi.

You see: I am making outside walls and I want to have OSB on the inside. I.e. main wall frame, insulated, PE-foil, OSB and then inside installation wall. Of course there are some inside walls that makes T-connection to the outside wall and these inside walls of course "breaks" the OSB slice outline in wall design. Then I thought: Ok, why not have the OSB go through, so in groundplan I temporarily adjusted the inside wall, so that it does not make connection with outside wall. But the OSB slice outline is still broken in wall design..... Even if I rightclick on the wall and choose separate, the OSB slice outline is still "broken".

This I simply don't understand. I know I can just move the slice outline - but shouldn't this work? That would be simpler.

I am engineer too and I too would love to have the newest version of Dietrichs. But it is too expensive (I think that my boss thinks) - so I am still sitting with 7.03..........

Isn't it possible to control the slide direction? Ok, when I make double sliding door, it slides inwards. So I am not sure what is the problem. But else - yes, just make the door as a door opening, and insert the right door physically... ;)

Thanks - it is a very nice setup and a very nice computer. The OpenGL 3D on the screen is one of my favourite 3D models. A quite big house and it contains (almost) everything we can do at the factory: Concrete elements of many kinds, wood elements of different kinds, steel/wood combo wall elements, balconies etc. etc. Markus (my teacher...) saw this model first hand a few years ago and he was impressed...

    Setup (all new):

    1) Computer: Asus G73SW-91229V.
    2) Eksternal screen: Asus VK278Q (27").
    3) Keyboard: Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800.
    4) Mouse: Logitech Wireless Mouse M505.

I like this setup alot. The only thing I am missing, is to clean-up under the table...

I don't think I could work with more than one monitor and I cannot see that one would need it for Dietrichs work.

Hehehe first I didn't understand the comment about my calculator, but now I understand... Well I do not use that (I don't know how to use it) - but I use a quite old Hewlett Packard 48GX with 128 kB Ram... In my new keyboard there is also a calculator button. Push that and a calculator pops up on the screen - smart! Shhhhh - Markus would say that we don't need any calculator - it is built-in in Dietrichs... :)

Ok - what are your complaints about the software? Let's get it on the table, so Dietrichs knows what they should work with. Positive feedback is better than "I am king of Sweden" and "such kind of s...ware"... :)

I like this program very much - but I have also had ideas and some of those are actually in the newer versions of the program or available - like U-value calculation, heat loss calculation and better static software.

One of my complains today is that Dietrichs should update the core or engine of the program so that it can take full advantage of todays high speed and high capacity computers + be a little more future secured (support up to 8 cores in processor for example or what one could think of). Simply to make the program better to handle very big models and models with many parts. To take advantage of up to 32 GB Ram etc. That is my great wish of today.
