Yeah, I was actually thinking about that too, because I use PDFedit995, to assemble several PDF files into one file. Is PDF995 good to make PDF drawings??

Hi.
Do some of you still use FreePDF XP?? I tried to install it on my new Windows 7 64 bit computer, but there was a problem to install Gostscript. So I am thinking to find another good PDF printer - what do you use?
-
Ok great. The paths where surprisingly correct - but it can be they are included in the way I have saved / transferred the program to the new computer. So now I have got the Dietrichs program icon on the desktop (but not in start menu - don't know how to do that, but that is perhaps also not important). The database program can I run from the Dietrichs main window - but how to get it in start menu or on the desktop as shortcut, I can't figure out.
-
Ok so far so good. But after this method the programs does not appear as icons on the desktop and in the startmenu. So how to start the programs (Dietrichs and database programs)?? What icons should have a shortcut on the desktop?

If you have changed something - let's say in wall design; Then you output a new drawing. But if you want on the 2D drawing only to change the timber list, you just insert a small part of the drawing that you can delete afterwards - and then insert the new timber list.

Oh I see, I did not know that. With "save settings in each dialogbox" - do you mean that you can arrange properties in folders, after type of properties - or how ever the single user wants to sort them?
-
What do you exactly mean with that? Yes, I am working with version 7.03. I am talking about wall properties, ceiling properties and roof properties that I have made my self.
-
Ok, so the single projects remember the settings. And even though you need to be inside a project to do the cleaning up, you obviously does not delete properties that are used in that specific project.
-
Hi.
I have often been thinkng about to clean up in my wall, ceiling and roof properties. You probably all know that after some time you have a lot of properties, because one often makes properties that are specific for a project or for testing something or...
But what would happen if one deletes, renames, rearranges these wall and ceiling properties? What about old projects, where these properties have been used??

Text, dimensions etc. are correct mirrored. But I am totally with you that you will have to check the drawing closely, move text, make new baseline dimension lines etc. to make the drawing look nice. It is bit of a work.
When I have situations like this where I want to mirror a whole drawing (for example wall elements, that are mirrored copies), I usually do as follows: I make a new empty drawing of big "paper size" and a scale that is the same as the original drawings or close to. Then I copy the content of the drawing (or the parts I want to mirror) to that drawing - and normally I can have contents from perhaps 4-5 drawings, in the one half of this big drawing. Then I mirror these 4-5 drawings at once and adjust dimension lines etc as necessary and copy it back to the original (or new) drawing.
-
Aha - so actually I move the drawing a specific amount and then I must use pan modelspace, to bring the drawing back "on paper".
-
Ok that's great.
Oh I made a writing mistake: It is going to be from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7, 64 bit. But as you said it doesn't matter. I also just found that I had saved a copy of the contents of the 7.03 CD on my harddisk - so it will be very easy for me to transfer Dietrichs to the new computer. Nice!
-
Hi again.
Will this work also with computers that has different Windows versions - like from Vista 32 bit to Vista 64 bit? (I have Dietrichs version 7.03).
-
- And the winner is: Asus G73SW-91229V.
Very powerful computer at a very nice price (similar to 2200 EUR).
-
Hmmm, I cannot even change it. How to work with this?
-
Hi.
I was just wondering how height flags work. I have a section, imported from a Architect drawing, with height flags. But the height flags was not transferred - at least not the numbers. So I thought to make some my self. But how does it start at -623,694?? is it possible to tell the program, that this one should be a specific number and other height flags should be related to this one??
-
- And the feature can also not be integrated in older versions?? I'd love to upgrade to version 10, but I am not sure if my boss agree. Problem being that the upgrade will be very expensive, as we would upgrade from version 7...
Other suggestions for good U-value calculation software? I have downloaded BuildDesk trial, but I think I have tried it before. Probably I didn't like it too much, but maybe the new version is better.
-
Hi - does any one know of a good piece of software to calculate U-values of user defines and arbitrary constructions??
Is it possible to integrate the U-value feature of newer Dietrichs versions in older versions of Dietrichs. Or can this program be available as a stand alone piece of software (not too expensive, please).
Also line heat loss would be a nice thing to have in such a U-value calculation software.

In many cases if I want to show that here should be a bolt, I just make them for example in wall design. In my material database I have made some different sizes of round steel "things". - Could also be armature in concrete structures.
When input in wall design sometimes, one has to go to D-cam to rotate and or move it to correct position. I almost never use D-cam to construct objects.
