If I change the heights for the roof there is no problems with colors. Is it a problem, that I have two topfloors TF2 and TF3 - I needed that to put the wall elements on top of each other, so they could go to the ridge.

Another picture. Problems: Walls is running through roof, strange colors, bottom slice of roof properties is not shown correct - should be plaster boards.
-
Here is another one, that makes me crazy.... :?
-
- Der_planner: Interesting - I will keep it in mind. But one thing that could be difficult is to make the roof with these curved surfaces and edges, that makes this kind of roof so beautiful.
- Jens Krause: What you are saying is, that any picture as texture? - so I could take a picture of a brick wall or whatever and use as texture.
-
Would it be possible in Dietrichs to draw a roof like this straw roof at the picture?? (Nice house isn't it?).
-
As beams, as far as I remember. I think I was thinking about if I should choose beams or another. The definition of the material should be as the definition of SPF. SPF have 0,0 in the profile, as far as I remember - is that necessary?
-
I was trying (more experiments...) to draw a wall complete with facade boards. In this case 1:2 vertical boards. I just used SPF for the material - but what if I want another colour, like paint or like Sibirian Larch, ThermoWood, cedar...?
And what if I want to use horizontal profiled boards for the facade - ah maybe then I have to create a profile in Mdatabase...??
And another thing - I don't remember how to put realistic look windows and doors in the wall.
-
I am making new experiments, he, he....
If creating posts or plates, and using the material INTH (Inthermo) I cannot use the distribute function?? The material is entered in the material database, only as a material, not with a profile.

Dietrichs is not (primarily) an architectural software like ArhiCad, Vectorworks or others. But those software on the other hand are only architectural software, and cannot (I suppose) create machinefiles for CNC kind of machines for timber processing.
So if you are building wooden houses, and you want both worlds (architectural 3D views + 3D timber projects and machinefiles) inside one program - then maybe Dietrichs is a very good choice.
Dietrichs is very strong - the strongest I know and have ever seen - on 3D modelling of timber structures. So accurate, precise and quite easy. And you can make complete house structures including facade finish for 3D views. Only missing for the last issue is a bigger database with doors and windows - if you want to show exactly how the house will look like.
-
Of course Der_Planer - that's a good idea. I have been working with the database with profiles before, so I know a little about it.
-
I don't know, I will check tomorrow. But that is D-Cam, not wall design. Is it not possible in wall design? Because items drawn in D-Cam will not show up at timberlists, as far as I remember??
-
How to make a round glulam column in wall design???
-
In Ceiling design in setting, there are items named "header" and "stringer" - what are these items? Is it the timbers around the ceiling?
-
Ok, that works.
-
   Very funny - also this function 2-02 in D-Cam is not available for me.
I will try another thing - to make openings in the wall, that will cut the OSB.
-
Ha, ha, very funny - but unfortunately it is not me who is sitting on the money...

What does this extra module cost?
-
Is it possible to use boards in walls as closing boards in roof? Well yes - but the OSB boards are not cut around rafters, so maybe not?
-
No, I don't have function 5-04 in roof calculation....
(and crying)... -
Here is a picture of the roof - now I have put the battens as I like them to be. Now I want to put OSB boards on top, as roof surface for bitumen, to be put on top. But how to put those OSB boards???
-
I think I have another point for the wish list - I wish that roof design in addition to what can be done today - is more like wall design.
For example:
1) How to put OSB boards on the roof?
2) How to put items that are not rafters but you want to put battens manually? What I mean is that roof design seems not to be as flexible as it could be. Maybe later I will show a picture of what I want to do, but I have to do it with rafters.
