Ihr Team Dietrich's Online - Holzbau ist unser Programm

Well I don't understand much of it - but I don't think that it is what I had in mind. In OpenGL there should be either a menu like the other menus, or perhaps buttons "cut plane X-Y" and "cut plane Y-Z" or whatever - or as intelligent as in Tekla, where you just push "p" on your keyboard and then you choose a cuttingplane. And to move the plane you grab the scissor. An easy way to turn the sections on and off would also be nice. Try it out your self here: Tekla-model.http:// file://Groupinclu/intranet_pictures/Ramboll_Denmark_content/Site_menu/Projektsupport/Fagteknisk%20IT/3D/interaktiv_view/HOM/hom.html#

    And see the attached pictures.

I got two USB dongles one blue for drawing program and one green for engineering calculation program.

And I got a floppy disk (I think with the dongle software, but I am not sure), I got a CD with tutorials etc, and one CD for installation.

    See pictures attached.

Wait a minute - the Hundenborn software on the CD is not the full version?? My boss paid for the software - so why I did not get the full version, when we was in Neubiberg?

And if the full version is already on the CD - the how to install only the Hundenborn software??

The engineering program is the Hundenborn static software - the Dietrichs software is not engineering - that is drawing...

Well never mind - I thought when I installed the software I also installed what is needed for the Hundenborn static software to run.

If that is not the case - then how to install it without "damaging" (reinstalling) the Dietrichs installation??? Will I be able to choose between the two software - is the Hundenborn software on the same CD as the Dietrichs software??

Is it enough to install just the hardlock driver for Hundenborn? - well of course not if the software it self is not installed.

    12. I have thought about a new wish - something that could be very useful: A possibilty to define a cutting plane (horizontal or vertical) in OpenGL and in D-cam in future OpenGL mode. This is useful if you are talking with a costumer about his house and you are showing him the house in OpenGL. Then it can be useful to be able to show a section. The software "Tekla Structures" have this option - and there is also a special webviewer, that perhaps could be useful for Dietrichs as well.

I still wonder why my special items are not cut correctly around windows. I can understand the I-beams because I used wall macro for them.

My Inthermo and massive wood elements are cut horizontally by the window but vertical cuts into the elements doesn't appear. Would they appear if I put a horizontal normal beam as girt, and maybe also vertical all way around window, so the elements would be cut around it??

Now you can see the results of todays experiments.

For some reasons I don't understand - my massive wood elements did not work. When I try to put them into the wall, I have "Exception Access violation" - and when I define posts in settings I can also not see the items for the elements in "Itemobjectbase" but the items for my I-beams are there. And if I call the name for the elements and put into wall the program shuts down. Why??

Der_planner, can I ask you about how you defined the profile for your facadeboards? I mean did you put the profile coordinates in meter or in millimeter, and what units are you working with in Dietrichs construction program? That could maybe be why mine did not work.

And did you define your profile under beams or under panels or it does not matter??

Yes I full understand your arguments. But with my idea the beam would act as one beam and not 3 items.

But I think for my own house, maybe I will make the I-beams manually in Dietrich and then if I make the timberlists - if I will buy the I-beams at Finnforest products, then I can list only the one flange of the I-beam, in order to see how many I-beams I need. Or if I want to produce the I-beams with my own bare hands, then I can make a normal timberlist.

The other thing that is discussing in this message is also very interesting:

Is it in any way possible to model the Inthermo N+F and the massive wood elements, with the correct cross section profile??
