Hi Kayaker
My first guess would be the zero overhang you have on the gables. Try putting a 20mm overhang and see if that cures it.

Hi Jorge
You really need to draw a new wall in Ground Plan because simply copying it in DiCAM won't create a 'wall' as such but just a volume that is the same size and the wall you copied. Does that make sense??

Rob
Sorry Thorvald. I don't think you'll be able to get this until Monday morning now.

Rob
Absolutely......
German or English, you are always ready to help or share ideas.
I am very grateful for your help, so thanks.

Hi Jens/Kayaker
I have noticed on some profiled beams that if you 'cut longer' (good expression by the way!) the profile disappears for the additional length.
In these instances I use the lengthen/shorten command in DiCAM (2-01-1 or 2). Any machine process disappear but this doesn't matter with steel, etc.

Hi Doug
No your answer sounds very good. I was just about to reply to Thorvald, but you beat me too it!!

I think Lui's problem with using the full version without a hardlock is that once installed, it is quite difficult for someone not used to the software to navigate around the menus and icons in order to get the model in such a way as it can then be easily seen in OpenGL.
Would it be possible to issue a 'Lite' version of the software which could install with only the icons etc that were actually needed for the client to quickly activate what is to be viewed and then switch on OpenGL.
Cheers
Rob
PS Nice to see you on here Lui - Piers too.
Hi Piers
No - no way to get that kind of detail (an ovolo type moulding that is) on to a K2 I'm afraid.
But if it's just for visualisation, then Joe's method is definately the best and most flexible- if a bit cumbersome. But you can draw your profile in PlanCAD and import it and then just extrude.

Thanks Planer
These dxf's are going to be used in Macromedia Flash. Is the 3d Face option or the 3d mesh option the best for this?
Cheers
Rob
Can anyone tell me which is the best format of 3d dxf to use if the file is going to be used by Flash for use on a web site.
Should I export 3d mesh, 3d faces or 3d lines?

Hi Jim
I find a good way to draw footings is to draw them as walls. I put them in the BA storey.
If then they need moving or altering it is much easier. Also it makes it very easy to draw a foundations plan, especially if you set the reference axis to the centre of the 'wall'. You can then quickly dimension to the centre of the dig, which is what most digger drivers prefer.
I also draw any brickwork walls as walls and give them a separate storey number.
Just thought I'd mention it.

Hi Planer
I found this converter which seems good - only on trial - but it's not too expensive.

Forget that - I have downloaded the dll file.
Never underestimate the power of GOOGLE !!!!
Thanks again.

Hey Planer
You really do know everything!!!
When I try and export as an mp3 I get this message:-
Do you know what I should do here???

Rob
Hey Planer
That's spooky.....I downloaded this software last night and all I have to do now is figure out how to use it...
The ringtones on my Nokia seem to be .aac format, but maybe they will take mp3's too???

Hi Planer
Yes, I know what you mean, but our eldest is only 8, so for the next year or two I should just about know more than her about technology!!! I think.......... :? :? :?
Hi Everyone
I am looking for some very simple (and preferably free) music editing software. Just to take clips from tracks to turn into ringtomes etc.
I know absolutly nothing about this and would welcome some advice from all my Dietrich's using pals!!!

Hi Eric
First off - I think the x measurment defines the position of the mortice on the beam. When using a smart tag this is chosen at the end of the operation when you place the processing so therefore doesn't need a setting when actually defining the tag.
Secondly, in my PSB (Smart Tag) folder, I have a whole collection of processes which use inches. Take a look at the screen shot.
Hope this helps
Rob
Hi jmiller and der Planer
I was exactly the same. I thought I would never use the OpenGL workspace, but I find myself using it more and more.
With complex frames it makes a huge difference. Having said that I am glad I can work in wireframe too.

Rob
Cheers Jason
I will download and install right now!!!
