When setting up a 2D template be sure to select your correct printer under "Page Layout" 1-9 and enter in "0" under all the "Border" settings. This way the printer settings will automatically default to the smallest "Border" width. Each printer will have a different border width. If you want to select a PDF printer as the "Printing Device" be sure to first follow the instructions above and then select your PDF "Printing Device" and enter in the correct "Border" settings. Do not use the automatic "Border" settings from the PDF printer.
If the "Windows Printer Settings" message displays after selecting the print command it is telling you that your page does not fit inside your printers border specs. You have the option to shrink the drawing to fit inside the page layout (incorrect scale). I use this option espcially when I am working on architectural drawings. My drawings are on a 24"x36" paper size for final printing but we often print to a 11"x17" for quick viewing, fast printing, save on paper, etc.
