Ok, that could be something for the wish-list: The possibility to copy walls in ground plan - with door and window openings.

Another way to do what you wanted in ground plan, could be to make a copy of the story, delete the other walls in that story, move the wall. In MOS (?) change what story the wall belongs to, and then, if necessary, in ground plan change the heights of the wall.

I think there are more of these videos that are not correct? It was in the tutorial where all steps of building a small timberframe house are shown. I saw some wrong videos I think in the section about making material lists.

Did you copy a whole wall in D-Cam - I mean with wall volume, timber etc. turned on and then copied these items to another place in the house??

Maybe in ground plan in "display style" 1-7-1, you did not mark to view D-cam objects??

Another fast way to make a new wall that is identical to another is to create a wall in groundplan, with the same dimensions, length, height etc. and then in wall design find the wall that you want to copy. Now you use "wall macro" 1-5-1 to copy the items in this wall (make a new "wall macro). And then you find the new wall that is untill now just empty. Here you again access "wall macro" 1-5-1, and insert the copied items from that you just made.

You don't understand what I am saying. ;) He is receiving commercial version / hardlock key tomorrow, and while he is waiting he his making a project from a tutorial - so is there any way that he can "transfer" his turorial project to the commercial version and then continue to work on that tutorial and save it in normal way??? Or maybe if he borrow my hardlock key (or what ever hardlock key the installation CD, that he used, belongs to - mine or my assistent, I am not sure, but I think it might be mine). And then he can save his tutorial work at the end of this day. And tomorrow open it with commercial version, when it arrives.
    Possible or not??

Is it possible to save a project made with trial version, so it can be opened with commercial version? He can avoid to turn off his computer, so the program remains open. And then when he receives commercial version just install the hardlock key - or maybe he will have to close the program anyway, before commercial version will work??

Or can he use my hardlock key and then save the project??

That was what I was thinking. I made a very small project, and made several tests, with this project and with 2 other big projects. And I think that now I found the place where it occurs. I can't say for sure that it doesn't occur in other situations, but it seems not.

With the uploaded project I made following steps: Open position, go to D-Cam, select all and open OpenGL, exit OpenGl (and then if I want to open D-Cad, I cannot).

Maybe - maybe not, but we will try. Because if I open PlanCad as soon as I have opened a position, there are no problems. Is it enough to send only the position? Because the packed project is 32 MB.

Ok - I just tried to regenerate the problem and that was very easy. I just open a position, go to different modules, wall, ceiling and D-Cam and OpenGL, take a picture. And then I try to start PlanCad - but Dietrichs freeze and doesn't answer. And I have to shut it down with ctrl-alt-del. So if I try to open D-Cad after working just a little in Dietrichs - then I can't.

    2. To be able to solve this problem, we need more information from you: Does the error occur regularly in a certain project. If yes: Can you send us the project? If no: Could you describe the exact sequence in which you make mouse clicks and call up functions before the error occurs?

Maybe problem 2 doesn't occur on Windows XP, but only on Vista?? On my desktop computer (with XP), it seems like I can open DCad anytime I want.

Hi. When I make the profile for a hollow core slab - then can I specify it as a panel or do I have to specify it as a beam or it does not matter? Because as a panel it will have all the benefits - like automatic cutting around ceiling outline, holes etc.

    - never work with lines or edges shorter than 1 mm - never work with lines or edges shorter than 1 mm - never work with lines or edges shorter than 1 mm - never work with lines or edges shorter than 1 mm - never work with lines or edges shorter than 1 mm - never work with lines or edges shorter than 1 mm - never work with lines or edges shorter than 1 mm........

Maybe I remember it now... :grinning_squinting_face: So it is because circular items are relative heavy - especially if they are made from many segment lines - in Dietrichs as well as in other Cad software???

Unfortunately I lost 1 days work, while working with this. The holes in the hollow core slabs, I had made manually with intersection volumes against steel tubes (I have not yet put them in the material database). And I had finished to put armature in 8 deck elements, when the program crashed and when I opened it again I was not asked if I want to recover from auto save files - and there was only basement floor - 1st. floor that I was working with, was gone.

The reason for this I guess is that circular items are relative "heavy" for the model?? One thing that might be a issue is the number of segment lines? In general I have used 20 segments for my armature. Maybe I should go down to 10 or 12.

Another option - that I will do now - is that I will have a position with the house model. (Luckily I had copied the house model into another position, when I finished the raw model, because I have two houses that are nearly equal). Then I can have positions, from where I make production drawings of max. 5 concrete elements with armature, if it is hollow core slabs, and maybe 10 if they are massive wall or deck elements. I think I can still manage to have the concrete project for these 2 houses ready for production on Monday, which was my goal. But to loose 1 days work - aaauuuuch...
