Hey, a9tech - that was a good hint... :grinning_squinting_face: Also to get a free cad software, where you can draw and edit dwg drawings etc. Great. No more dwg viewer from AutoDesk (maybe)....

Hi. Why is it sometimes not possible to use intersecting volumes to make cuts? I want to cut away a piece of the flange in a IPE steel profile - in all other places it worked, but in one place it doesn't work, and this simply irritates me. Are there other ways to do it? Or why sometimes intersecting volumes does not work??

Why "of course" text and measurements dissapears when converting dwg to dxf?? Is it because of the dxf format - that dxf format perhaps contains only lines?? For me it is irritating, because when inserting windows and doors - the information of the windows and doors (sizes, SH etc.) is on the architect drawing. It would be much easier and faster to insert windows and doors, if I don't have to switch between Dietrichs and architect drawing. If I in dietrischs assisting geometry instantly can see the information about that window. I think I am not the only one through history, who would like to be able to import dwg into Dietrichs. I just don't remember the reason why this is not implemented in Dietrichs.

I would like to hear more about dwg to dxf converters - are there any free software, that can do that???

    Hello.
An old fashioned topic, but still actual. I have one thing here: It is a bit irritating that text and measurements dissapeares, when dwg is converted to dxf.

I also - I should make a handrail with rounded edges, so I made the rounding with a number of straight lines. That is the same, as the program does, if you make a tube or column with circular section.

Or - if the profile is used several times - make the section in the material database. First draw it in Plancad, so you can get the coordinates you need.

I must say I don't know what is a moulded (ovolo) edge is??? :?

    1. the problem with dhpdat.ini is known, but we have not found the reason for this, yet. It seems to have something to do with changing the language. If you could see a regularity in it, that would help.
We found that dhpdat.ini is not deleted, but only renamed. Just look for a "dhpdat.new" and re-name it. Then you will not loose your path settings.

Maybe this problem occurs when the program have been opened a specific number of times?? I will try to count next time it happens.

Yes of course, that is correct. Of course the rounded edge is not really round, because you have to make the arc of straight lines. But it works, and that is what matters! :)

OK, but the program cannot possibly know how I split the roof into elements... (?) - Maybe if I made one roof surface for each element, but that is time consuming - I did that once, but now no more.

    Hi.

Is there an "easy" way to make a rounded edge, t.ex. with a radius of 20 mm. I did this: Made a 90 degrees tube (in D-cam), with 20 mm inside radius. I make the wood (in wall design) that I want rounded edge on, and in D-cam I place the quarter tube at correct place on my timber and mirror it. Then with intersecting volumes I can make my two rounded edges.

    Is there an easier way??

I work in millimeter, but the timberlists are inserted with dimensions in meter. Is it possible to change, so that timberlists will be inserted with dimensions in millimeter?

Did you not found a permanent solution for this yet?? I don't see any regularity in it.

What about the D-Cad problem?? - that still irritates me.
