Ihr Team Dietrich's Online - Holzbau ist unser Programm

    1) Yeahh, I understand that - and now I remember that it is not the .plf files that are attached to positions but the .pla files are.

    2) Aahh, so the .pla files are the blocks (stored images) that I insert in the drawings. I understand.

    3) Nothing bad will happen, because the .plf files is just a long list of drawings. And the order of them doesn't matter.

    4) I wouldn't do it any where else than in the Dietrichs menu (delete and copy positions). When I create folders for new projects, I prefer to do it in explorer (if that is what you call it). If I delete positions, I will have some empty spaces (position numbers), where I can copy other positions to. So with copy and delete, I can reorganize my positions as I wish.

    5) I know, but that could be changed to a number system like xxxxxyyyzzz.plf xxxxx = project number, yyy position number and zzz plan number. So when one make a new drawing, the program asks what position it should be attached to. And when opening drawings, the list of drawings would be folders with the position names and under that, the drawings attached to that position. And if you - in the program copy a drawing to another position the program automaticly changes the yyy number. That cannot be so dificult. Or it could be in the same way as with the .pla files - they are organized position wise.

How are the drawings attached to specific positions??

What are the .pla files used for?? Can I delete them?

In this project I am working with, I have several houses - each house in one position. I am reorganizing the drawings, because it is a bit mess. T.ex. I have wall drawings for some houses - and then later I have roof element drawings for the same houses. And the numbering of the drawings are also not continious. So I am renumbering the .plf files. This I do with a copy of the drawings, another place than in the Dietrichs project folder.

Can something bad happen, when I delete the existing .plf files, and copy the reorganized files into the project folder??

I was also thinking about to reorganize the positions, because, I have positions that I don't have to keep - but can something bad happen here?

For the wish list: The possibility to organize drawings in folders. Perhaps automaticly, so there are one drawing folder for each position. It should then be possible to move drawings from one position to another - t.ex. if you want to delete a position, because you have a copy that you use.

Hi. I would like to forward a question and my temporary answer to that question:

    Question:
Jesper asked me to ask You- in Dietrich's program it can be done lists of elements(roof, dormers, and walls) height, width and length?

    Answer:
The quick answer is: I don't think so. Perhaps for walls it is possible - but not for roof elements, dormers, balconies, since they are made as whole roofs / balcony areas, that are manually split into elements.

When I - maybe on the next project - are going to use the elementation modules in the program - then maybe this would be possible. But first I have to find out how to use these elementation modules, and I didn't have time for that for now. And I also didn't want to do it on Havsdalsgrenda, because it wouldn't be a benefit here.

Am I correct with my answer - and what is possible?

But the 2 roofs do not touch each other - at least not in the height. But the one roof goes under another roof. So when the outlines are seen from above, then yes, they cross each other.

Hi. At attached picture, the lowest roof is supposed to end near to the wall, but it seems like the roof calculation for that roof follows the upper roof - why? OK - I cannot upload picture, but maybe you understand my question anyway.

You are working with Dietrichs and don't know what is blocks?? Now I am chocked... ;) No - well, when you make a drawing and you will insert some content in that drawing, you use "Insert stored image" function - and there you have your blocks to choose from.

It was not the lines she could not see, but the blocks, when inserting in drawing. She (of some reason) did not get all blocks available.

But it is solved now, after she use the project file that I sent to her with the whole project.

We don't use drawing templates. I don't think that the color settings are the problem, because she is working on a quite clean installation of Dietrichs, an installation that I made. I am also not sure what is really the problem - but she says that she cannot see all the drawing blocks, that I have made - when she insert drawing images in drawings.

Hmm, not many answers... ;) Well 2 things could be said about this: As long as we work as we do now: I make all constructions in Dietrischs and take out all the blocks she will need to make the drawings ind D-Cad - then the better would be that I send to her the whole project file, so that we all the time have the same block numbers etc. ??? But the whole project is a bit over 100 Mb (and it is not finished) - but we have ftp-server, so it is possible.

A even better way might be that she herself take out from Dietrichs what she needs to make the drawings. But that is not an option at the moment.

Maybe I should add, that I use D-cam, when I take out drawing information for roof elements. And I use ground floor module and wall module, when I take out drawing information for walls and ground floor drawings.

She says: "Every time when I starting to make drawings i have to set all settings anew.I think this time I have the same problam with these drawings. Could You write me, in Roof areas drawings, rafter-plate drawings and single beams drawings, what kind of settings I have to set?"

I say: "Why you have to do any settings there?? To my opinion you should need nothing else (when you have put the files in correct place), than to open D-Cad program and take into the drawings, the drawing files that I have prepared in the Dietrichs program. I take out from the Dietrichs program all what you need in the D-Cad program. You should not do anything in the Dietrichs program. (??)"

She says: "If I not do anything in Dietrichs program- in setting, I see only elements frames."

    ???

Well, let's say, that I have finished constructiong something - a house t.ex. and I am going to send it to my assistant in Lithuania, so she can make drawings to this position. Maybe I have prepared some of the drawings. I send the packed position zgb-file to her and perhaps more or less plf-files, depending on how many drawings I have prepared for her to finish.

It seems, like everytime she have problems to open the drawings, etc. even though she put the files in the correct place and unpack it etc.

We both have version 6.02 - the difference is just that my version is on higher level, than hers (premium modules etc.). The project consists of many positions since the project consits of many houses.

    What can go wrong?

How to put OSB boards on the roof?? I have upgraded to D-roof premium, so it should be possible, right? I don't use the elementation module yet, even though I got that one also. First I don't think it will be an advance for the project I am working on now, secondly I don't have time to find out how the elementation module works.

But back to the question, how to put OSB boards on the roof??
