Hi.
Do some of you still use FreePDF XP?? I tried to install it on my new Windows 7 64 bit computer, but there was a problem to install Gostscript. So I am thinking to find another good PDF printer - what do you use?

Hi.
Do some of you still use FreePDF XP?? I tried to install it on my new Windows 7 64 bit computer, but there was a problem to install Gostscript. So I am thinking to find another good PDF printer - what do you use?
I still use FreePDF XP with Windows 7 32bit and 64bit.
Yeah, I was actually thinking about that too, because I use PDFedit995, to assemble several PDF files into one file. Is PDF995 good to make PDF drawings??
PDF995: Can you make settings, so you can save papersettings, like A3 landscape etc.??
Yes directly from the webpage. I did nothing special.
From this location exactly: Location FreePDFXP. ?? I must say I prefer FreePDFXP over PDF995, after I have tried that.
Ok I have now downloaded this Gostscript file tar someting, unpacked it with 7zip and unpacked the unpacked file with 7zip and have now a folder Gostscripy 9.02 with files. But no file to install the program as far as I can see? How to do it??
Ok - I tried just to use the file AFPL Ghostscript 8.54, that I also had on my old computer and it seems to work now.
Ok - it works - but it does not work in the same way as on my old computer. On that, I could get a "printer interface", where I could save printer settings, like A3 landscape color, A4 portrait, A3 landscape greyscale etc. - and just choose among those, to suit my print job.
Do you have that on your system Joachim Neumann??
Yes I still have in the settings for the printer.
Hmmm - what Ghostscript have you installed and what version of FreePDF XP?? And what Windows version (if that matters)?
Ghostscript: 8.7
FreePDFXP: 4.04
Windows 7 32bit
Ok - I have:
Ghostscript: AFPL Ghostscript 8.54.
FreePDFXP: FreePDF 4.04.
Windows 7 64 bit.
Where did you get Ghostscript 8.7? And I have 64 bit Windows. Would that make a difference? Before I had Vista 32 bit.
I do not know that. You have to ask the FreePDF guys.
Ok, I will aks the FreePDF guys. On below pictures you can see how it worked on my previous computer. Could it be that here, it was connected with the settings of another printer?
This is how it looks when I use ctrl+p on a document:

And here I have gone into properties / saved settings / read ("indlæs"):

Do you have something like this? By the way on the previous computer the program was version 3.2.
Ok - back to PDF printer. I found out that the file size from FreePDFXP, sometimes are strange, compared to the original (it was making PDF from a word document, with photos). Then I tried Foxit Phantom PDF, that seemed good, with the word document. But when printing a drawing, it puts a rectangle around measurements and that is not ok.
What about FinePrint and pdfFactory? http://fineprint.com/pdf/
Both are wonderful tools! But not freeware...
