Can anyone provide some specifics to using the snap shot function 1-01-01? I've tried it, but the results are less than expected.
Thanks!

Hi Kayaker,
this function simply stores a 2D drawing of everything that is currently visible on screen. Can you be more specific about what you expected and what does not work out?
Best regards,
Jens
Well, it stores not everything vissible on screen as the print key of your keyboard but it stores the content of the grafical area of our program.
I receive an access violation message.
Kayaker
Do you get that in each project?
Do you get that in each modul of our software?
I tried snap shot again on a new file when I open it up in D-Cad 2D the program, screen is black, and can't make out what's on the screen.
Kayaker
That sounds very strange.
Does the dialogue box open?
Can you give me a printscreen of the dialogue box?
After taking the snap shot and selecting a template, I can then open it in D-Cad 2D but again, the screen is black.
Kayaker
I mean a printscreen of the dialogue box when you create the snap shot.
Always comes out "black" for me, too...
Did someone test several settings in the dialogue box? Does the problem occur always or in some cases?
I do not know anything about that problem. It seems to be an American problem until now.
I've just been trying to "print" it to PDFs. Attached screen shot and resultant PDF.
It's just an idea and I do not really know if this is the solution: Please start D-Cad 2D and select the function 1-7-2. In the last field you can enter the width of the lines. If this width is too big you just get a black drawing because you have big black lines.
Line weight was set to 0.007 inches. Switched to 0, and, still the same.
Note this only occurs when I 'print direct'.
If I do it as a drawing block to D-CAD or DXF, the lines come through fine.
I could reproduce that problem with an english version. I will talk to the programmers tomorrow (we have 18:17 in germany) to ask where this could come from.
If only I could speak german better and use that version...
much obliged,
joe
Now we found the problem and the solution. We made a correction in the program which you will get with the next version.
To help you with the current version I changed the name of a layer in one of our text files. Please copy the content of the attached zip file into your Dietrichs installation (for example Dietrichs11). You should get the question if the Plan1.frg should be overwritten, then you know that the file was copied correctly.
In like Flynn.
Awesome!
Thanks,
Joe
