Hidden Layer

In program 5.05 after I bring in a stored image the first command I select changes the current layer to hidden every time and the hidden layer is turned off. Now if I just select the layer command and go back to the drawing it automatically turns on the hidden layer and still keeps it current.

Please let me know if we can get a fix on this.

I don't realy understand your message because of my bad english. But I can tell you two things:
1.
We don't work at the version 5 anymore.
2.
The hidden layer is switched of because most of our clients don't want to see the hidden lines. If you work with templates you can change the setting of the layers. If you create a new plan with this template we use YOUR settings and not our automatic serttings.

I cannot reproduce this but I'm not sure if I understand you. I think I will wait for Markus and he will translate your problem.

Hello,

I'm having a related problem...

Attached are two screen shots. The first shows the layers present in a new drawing (1-1-1). The second is the layers after inserting stored image (1-2).

You see that the "default" layer is gone and that "DNAHidden" becomes the current layer.

After inserting a stored image anything I place on the drawing goes to the hidden layer and is not shown (because hidden layer is not shown).

Once I open the layer dialog I recreate the default layer and get back to normal. I just upgraded from 4.05 to 5.03 to 5.05. 4.05 and 5.03 did not have this problem.

Please advise.

Hi Steve,

I believe this is exactly the same problem I was having. The setting that causes this problem is the selection "Save Hidden Lines" when saving the view to D-CAM.

What you wrote is completely another thing.

You are right. There is an error which deletes the unused layers by inserting a new image. We did correct this in our current beta version. With the next version you will get it fixed.
If you want to have the layer DNAhidden automaticaly switched on you have to work with tempates. If the template has the layer DNAhidden and it is switched on in the template it stays switched on when you insert a new image.
