    i have a notebook asus model f5r series, with 2gb ram, cpu t5450 intel, vga ati radeon xpress 1100. dietrich's non run good with rendering, when i go opengl, whi? is needed other vgacard? or path for it?

    this can be a problem with your video card or at least with your video driver. To do something to get a better solution with a notebook is not easy. First thing would be to get the newest driver.

    this video card does not have an integrated memory but only shared memory (it substracts the memory it needs from the computers cache). Thus, it is not suitable for working in OpenGL mode.

    every video card is different. This is why we adapted our hardware requirements to the worst case.
    The list with the hardware-requirements has been sent to you with the software. It says definitely: Video cards using only shared memory do not meet the demands of our software.

    I cannot give you a recommendation for a special notebook. All notebooks that meet our hardware requirements are OK. For the video card I would recommend NVIDIA 7000 and 8000 series or the Quattro series.

    When you look after a notebook avoid those with graphic cards with shared memory. If you still have a problem to find a notebook, tell me what screen size you would like and maybe I can give you examples of good notebooks.

    is good this model with vista and ditrich?

    I would recommend the last model with 3GB RAM (2GB is the minimum as Vista itself uses very much of the ressources).


    Generally, it is better to use a fast single core processor than a slower DualCore or QuadCore as most programs can use only one processor core at a time.
